Talking about suicide and depression 5 suicides. There has been 5 suicides on a single jobsite on the northern part of the cities this year. I am not sure what company it is or who the people where. I know this because a representative from the department of labor for MN came to my jobsite to look for things which "could cause people to be depressed". This is absolutely ridiculous to me that someone is trying to find things which cause depression or suicidal tendencies. Its WAY more complicated than this. Construction defiantly has problems with its drugs and alcohol. The one people forget about is how depressing the job can be. 12+ hour shifts 6 to 7 days a week while being away from loved ones takes its toll on people. I won't lie, this industry has been extremely hard for me and has put me down pretty low. Just a reminder for everyone before the new year starts that depression is not visible. No matter how happy someone may seem they might be in the lowest points of their lives. Do not be afraid to reach out to me or anyone ever if you are down. Thats my rant. Thanks
