when Title IX was passed 50 years ago, some women were finally given the chance to explore and investigate their independence through sport and other programs. that liberation gave way to superstars, game changers, CEOs and a new generation of leaders. ... 50 years on those leaders have demonstrated the power of sports in larger society. I can’t help but have a heavy heart as all of this progress is now being rolled back for the sake of political agendas. ... I am so grateful to have spent the day with fellow changemakers talking about what we can do for the next generation at @nike Her Rise celebration for Title IX. I look forward to the next 50 years, taking the hard-earned lessons and advice from those who have blazed trails before. I want to be a part of moving sport and it’s potential forward. A world where young Black girls, Indigenous girls, non-binary people, trans girls, and all girls of color are fervently advocated for. It’s a tall task in this climate, but I’m ready to do the work. ... also shoutout to @marcusrashford for showing up and showing out 🤞🏾
