Back home after an incredibly special week out in Wadi Rum, Jordan. My third trip to the area, and this time with something other than adventure in mind. I’ll hold off on the specifics for now, but the desert is changing, and so are it’s surroundings.
It felt very different being there and looking at it through a new lens. It’s changed so much, but then so have I. I found a huge sense of purpose being out there with a plan for something that feels deep and important, and I feel a duty to get back there to continue exploring the story and bringing it to light.
It’s also something wholly new for me. I’m not following someone else’s story and documenting it (a process that I love). This time I’m looking at a wide, vast subject and working out which pieces need including in order to achieve the desired outcome. It feels fresh and new, and like the start of a very purposeful new chapter. Thanks to @t.omwest for kicking me up the arse and making me go despite my work/home/life schedule being what it is.
Some old Greek bloke summed it all up pretty well: “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.”
I’d suggest wading through a river or two. It’s amazing what you find...
