A few months back we shot a short climate film, Voices of Mida Creek, for @seatrees, our @1percentftp partners, highlighting a mangrove conservation effort in Mida Creek, Kenya. It was incredible to document the efforts of one woman, Arafa Salim Baya, and witness her inspiring her community to take action, and learn more about what motivates her to wake up every day on a mission to protect the environment. Our day with Arafa was our best. Her energy was magnetic, her smile contagious and she propelled so many from her community to come together to protect their natural ecosystem. Just a few weeks back we caught wind that the world & Mida creek lost a friend to conservation and community due to complications with COVID. We’ll miss you Arafa.
