Since late 2021, a small fleet of vaguely feline robots has been delivering bamboo steamers of har gow and xiaolongbao at New York City dim sum parlors. Meet BellaBot, a robot from Chinese manufacter Pudu Robotics that uses lasers to navigate dining room floors, dodging restaurant staff and flashing winks at customers as it delivers orders. The robots, which cost as much as $16,000 each, are advertised as a cost-cutting measure at a time when restaurant jobs have been harder than ever to fill. They've been making waves in Detroit, Dallas, and other U.S. cities — but New York City, where their sole U.S. distributor is headquartered, will likely be their largest market yet. Head to the link in bio for the full scoop on these cat-like robots. āœļø: @luke.fortney šŸ“ø: @rsietsema šŸ“: New Mulan, 136-17 39th Avenue, Queens
