⭐️VEGETARIAN SPAM MUSUBI⭐️ I didn’t even know vegan spam existed until I saw these @meetunmeat.us cans at the grocery store! I was curious to see how they tasted and I was so impressed! The texture was very similar to real spam. Even my meat loving husband liked it and he doesn’t enjoy most of the vegetarian meals I make 😂 INGREDIENTS •2 cups rice (short or medium grain) •1 can @meetunmeat.us spam •1 sheet of sushi nori Sweet & Savory Glaze (recipe from @playswellwithbutter) •1/3 Cup Brown Sugar •3 Tbsp Soy Sauce •2 Tbsp Mirin •1 Tsp Sesame Oil INSTRUCTIONS 1. Cook the rice. Let it sit for about 15 min before assembling the musubi 2. Prepare the glaze by combining the ingredients listed above. Microwave for 30 seconds to dissolve sugar 3. Slice the spam and pan fry until lightly browned 4. Spoon the glaze over each slice of spam. Let cook for 2 min. Flip and repeat step. The glaze should thicken once reduced. 5. Build the musubi. If you don’t have a mold, you can use the spam can like I did. Line it with plastic wrap and fill it with an inch layer of rice. 6. Lay the cooked spam on top. I also added a layer of fried egg but you can exclude for a vegan musubi 7.
