This week has been a WHIRLWIND. Between #FashionRevolutionWeek and Earth Day, the amount of change needed is overwhelming. BUT even though it seems that as individuals, we hold little power in creating this change, any little action makes a difference. Today, I can proudly share that #IMadeYourClothes - Transparency is the most important aspect of my brand, and as I expand my business and my team, I’ll share who is helping in the process (which I’ll hopefully be sharing soon as I just hired some help!!!) Fashion Revolution Week started after the Rana Plaza garment factory collapse in 2013. It killed over 1000 workers due to the poor construction of the building and lack of attention to building codes. The factory owner illegally built upper floors in order to fit more workers and even though through every inspection, he was told it was unsafe, he disregarded it and forced his workers into these conditions. And well, that caused over 1000 lives to be lost. In order for this to never happen again, we need to continuously hold brands accountable and ask for transparency. NO ONE should die for your clothing. There is a human behind every item you wear. A living, breathing, beautiful, dignified human. I don’t feel a need to preach this to you all, since majority of you probably follow me because we share these similar views, and for that - I am so incredibly thankful. Having this platform gives me so much hope for the future because I know that you guys, alongside me, will continue to fight for what’s right. I am so grateful for this community today and everyday. Though Fashion Revolution Week ends today, it’s a fight we need to carry on every day of our lives and I hope you all will join me in it!!!✨ • • • #smallbusiness #slowfashion #ethical #sustainable #sustainablefashion #ethicalfashion #handmade #sewing #fashiondesign #zerowaste #zerowastefashion #fashionrev
