On may 3rd my nana passed away. She doesn’t like the word “grandparent” because she thought it sounded old and “nana” sounded hip and French. I mean she did not act like a traditional “grandparent”. She would wear very sparkly dresses, Murakami backpacks, huge fur trench coats and the list goes on and on and on. It was like she was just one of my older friends. She would take me to the most amazing art shows, premieres and parties. Everytime I was with her it felt like I was with a celebrity. I mean, she was a celebrity. If I’ve ever told you about my nana, you know how special I thought she was. She really did love life and she loved showing me everything and anything. Thank you for everything nana. I love you.
