Otherkin - A Social Software: The Listening Chronicles. 30th October at Farm Kinderbauernhof am Mauerplatz Kreuzberg Allies of the Otherkin community, we invite you to join us for the playback sessions and hyper performances from our summit earlier this year, alongside our fellow kin at the Kinderbauernhof am Mauerplatz, we will share with you our chronicles. Our aim is to exchange knowledge, strategies as a decentralized coalition. The original summit was inspired by ideas of collective external support consciousness expansion and is pitted in the realm of thinking, observing and researching through both a technological and social lens. At times the gathering will be delicate and nonverbal, somatic and telepathic at others it will be active, nuanced and dynamic. Background “Otherkin - A Social Software” was a role-played experimental audio transcribed performance that took place through the lens of a fiction theory narrative centred around the idea of Otherkin and the notion of companion species – human beings entangled with other animals, organisms, landscapes, and technologies. The role played work brought up questions of new animism, translocality, and how to leave behind the notion of human exceptionalism, the live work was then condensed into a sonic archive of specific narratives that ran through the piece. The work will be played at a special listening session at a local farm in Kreuzberg, Kinderbauernhof am Mauerplatz alongside two other sessions that came from the summit produced by ögalOS 4.6.11and The Crawlers. Through the language of Otherkin, the work opened the door to a collective investigation into Identity – between being human and something else – bringing new ways of imagining and being. The work aimed to raise awareness to the complex entanglement of direct physiological effects of frequencies and the psychological effects of narratives, role-playing and Othering. Together the players subvert and mutate reality, opening alternative and transformative landscapes of existing together and apart. Poster design Marijn Degenaar
