As we near the end of our monthly focus on depression, it’s important to remember that opening up about your feelings can be challenging, but many people find it really helpful.
Speaking to someone you trust can help you feel connected and supported. Remember you don’t have to go through things on your own.
If you would like to continue the conversations about your own mental health, there are a number of support services you can connect with to get help with managing feelings of depression.
• Beyond Blue: Offers a free, confidential and 24/7 counselling service for all Australians looking for a little help with their mental health.
• Friends for Good: Provides a free, national anonymous telephone and online chat support service for adults in the community who are experiencing social isolation and/or loneliness and would like to have a chat with a friendly volunteer.
• Mens Line Australia: Offers free professional counselling support for men with concerns about mental health, anger management, family violence, addiction, relationship, stress and wellbeing
• Life Line - Service Finder: Is a directory of free or low cost health and community services in Australia. Search for GPs, counsellors, material support and much more.
