Truth is— moving to London is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Add in the lockdown and honestly we need wine to even talk it thru. I used to sit in my sweats w my baby crawling all over me and my family thousands of miles away and watch Ziegfeld Girl and Carmen Jones and Funny Face over and over. Dreaming of glamour. I didn’t grow up wanting to be a showgirl but when I met cabaret- I just became her. I watched Judy Garland and Lana Turner come down the steps in Ziegfeld Girl and I realised I’ve been a showgirl all this time. Discipline. Passion. Sisterhood. Performance. I’ve been showgirling my whole life and didn’t know it. ( Blessings to @mahoganynmotion forever ). And now- I wanna bring Black showgirls, Thick and Fine ass showgirls, ALL THE KINDS OF SHOWGIRLS that exist to a stage that loves them the way we deserve to be loved. We’re here. We’ve been here all along. @carteblancheshow is my Baby! My whole heart packed into 2 acts. We open October 13th and I’m scared as hell but I’m so excited to bring yall this moment.
