Happy Friday from the Flight Deck! Ever wonder where our aircrafts were before they got to Intrepid? The Grumman F9F-8 Cougar was made in Bethpage, NY in 1955. It then served in fighter squadrons in California before it was transferred to Kingsville, TX where it was used as a chase plane. After the Cougar's retirement in 1965, it was loaned to the aptly named Airplane Park in Wall Township, NJ. It was displayed there until it was brought to Intrepid in 2011. #flightdeckfriday
