For #indegenouspeoplesday we want to highlight a beautiful film experience created by one of our LFN Filmmakers, Karem Orrego, she was part of our LFN Filmmakers House during the Sundance Film Festival (virtually), earlier this year. “Shattering the Pictures In Our Heads” deconstructs the “mythic Indian” stereotype through an immersive documentary experience with genuine perspective from members of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes. This multi-screen art installation combines 360 & traditional video formats to create a three - dimensional environment where visitors find themselves steeped in the sights,sounds, and powerful stories from Duck Valley Indian Reservation in Nevada & Idaho. The team behind this project wants it to become an evolving art platform for authentic conversations about the ramifications of positive and negative Indigenous portrayals in the media. LFN supports this project and we are very happy to announce that it is traveling the world and being showcased at museums. It will be displayed in Germany this month and we would like to see it displayed in more museums all over the USA.
