Emotions are often perceived negatively. Expressing vulnerability through the emotions of sorrow, joy, anguish, excitement and others has become society’s narrative of weakness. “five steps to peace” depicts the process and acceptance of grief through it’s essential role in one’s personal healing. While grief itself is often the most difficult part of one’s journey, it is when we truly acknowledge the pain and adversity that we find absolute solace in peace.
This has been one of the most gratifying experiences through dance and I cannot thank you @llaylaa.g enough for allowing ourselves to push further than I had ever imagined when we started this process. I am truly grateful for @pointparkdc by giving me this amazing opportunity to showcase this dance!
