Which of these should you be using, based on your skin needs? PAUSE to read. All of these exfoliate. However as I mentioned before, chemical exfoliation offer much more benefits to the skin than simply helping to get rid of the build up of dead skin cells on the surface. Some exfoliating acids may be more beneficial for certain skin needs, skin conditions and skin types, so finding the right one is important. ➡️ I also included the molecular weight (size of the molecules) of each type of acid for those who want to know. In general, the lower the molecular weight, the smaller the molecule and therefore it is able to penetrade the skin deeper, but also increases the potential for irritation. Higher molecular weights, stay on the surface layers and are less likely to cause irritation. ➡️ Pay attention to the layering recommendations as well. PHAs for example can be used with retinoids based on skin tolerance, but it is usually not recommended to do this with AHAs and BHAs unless a single product is particularly formulated this way. ➡️ Then of course, we also need to understand percentages, frequency and how the pH of the product can make a difference when it comes to the choice of product you put in your routine. But just in case all of this seems a little confusing, that's why skincare professionals like skincare consultants exist to help you make the best choices for your skin needs. 😘 #SheriApproved #TrinidadSkincare #SkincareConsultant #AcidsCheatSheet #Acids101 #ExfoliatingAcids #AHACheatSheet #BHACheatSheet #PHACheatSheet
