Every song you wrote was a classic. You used to say you loved songwriting because only you would know the true meaning of your lyrics. You said you’d hide things in there, and the world would have to interpret it for themselves. You lived fiercely, poetically, and full of life. And you were only in mine for about two years but damn girl, did you make an impact. We wore out several guitars together, including the first one I ever owned. I couldn’t keep it after you passed simply because you played it better than me. I didn’t even really know how at the time, but watching you leave nothing behind on stage was all the lesson I needed.
