Alex and I have a giant metallic print of this on our wall at home and every time I look at it I’m transported back to that morning in the high alpine. The stillness, the quiet, the chill in the air hinting that fall is right around the corner. For me, photography isn’t just about capturing images of beautiful places, some of which I know I’ll never see in my life again. It’s also about capturing those feelings I was experiencing in the moment my finger hit the shutter button. My memories tend to fade and lose clarity over time, but photographs can bring them back into focus in a way that feels almost like magic.
