Have ever felt like this? Tomorrow is race day, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous.
In fact- out of all my races this is the one I feel the most emotions about.
It’s because I care, I’ve been feeling really good, I want to do well and I’ve placed a lot of internal pressure on myself to PR.
Why? Because my mind thinks that’s the only way to “show” how I’ve progressed.
But really there are so many other things I can look at as wins:
I didn’t burn out, I’m not going into this race with the deep desire for it to JUST be over so I can take a break. I am actually looking forward to what is next.
I haven’t felt as tired during this training cycle. As someone who is the QUEEN of naps, I haven’t felt like I have needed one even as my mileage started to increase.
My runs felt FUN, even the long ones! My relationship with running has definitely grown and changed for the better during this season.
This training cycle I’ve had less food cravings and always felt like I was well fueled during and in-between each run. (Thanks @meagalife 😘)
SO many wins that are MORE valuable to me and the longevity of my body and the sport of running.
If I PB (personal best) great, if not, it just means I need to sign up for more races to practice conquering my nerves 🤪
