Both of these @rapalausa DT’s were brand new before seeing action at lake Cayuga this week. I really used 3 main setups to do the majority of my damage. My main deal was cranking a DT 16 on the outside edges of the grass. Day 1 I caught 35 of my 37 bass on this DT 16 in Bluegill! The key with this was a lot of the schools of fish were actually a cast inside the grass and the most efficient way to relocate them was with that DT 16. You couldn’t active target these fish, you actually had to fish around to find them again. The DT 14 was used on the shallower edges where the DT 16 was going too deep, but was used the same way as the 16. The drop shot was clean up and I really didn’t have to pull this guy out till later in the week. As the pressure got worse on the groups of fish that I was targeting picking up a spinning rod was a way I was able to get a few extra bites out of those areas. Overall it was an unbelievable week of fishing and Cayuga quickly became one of my favorite northern lakes to visit. (The details on the gear I used is written below)
1. Dt 16 Bluegill with 12lb @sufixlines Advance fluorocarbon. 7”6 medium heavy @duckett_fishing_official JW Signature series Cranking rod and a 6:8.1 Paradigm JW signature series reel.
2. DT 14 Rapala DT in Green Gizzard. (Same setup as #1 rod, reel, line)
3. Drop shot 6” hand pour worm in Green pumpkin hues. 1/0 VMC Finesse Neko hook and a 1/4-3/8 oz VMC tungsten weight depending on the wind. 7”2 medium/heavy @duckett_fishing_official JW signature series rod. Main line was 8 lb Sufix Nano braid with a 10 lb Sufix advanced fluorocarbon leader
