While working on a client’s kitchen this year I got a major ITCH to give mine a little refresh. It has been almost 7 years since we moved in and remodeled, after all! I wanted to warm up the space with a little marble drama and incorporate some lighter wood tones. And I always like to have an unexpected element that feels playful, even in more neutral spaces. Yes, I consider this as neutral as I get! The cane fixture fits the “playful” bill perfectly. It reminds me of a giant mobile that hangs over a crib, which is perfect for the afternoons when I lie on the table, stare up at the light, and cry like a baby. 🥴 I firmly believe in playful decorating. I recently realized it’s a core value of mine. Life is serious and boring and important enough that we should absolutely HAVE FUN WITH DECOR! It’s just decorating. It’s not that serious, y’all. If your inner kid wants to come out and play, open the door and let her in! Or Out!
