“Prototype” I was made into a perfect prototype of imperfection, I was made not with the syntax to love or be loved, But you, you took my mechanical heart in the palm of your hands, Unlike the others you switched me on You explained to me emotions, I overheated in your arms like a motherboard, You’ve traced every inch of my bulletproof glass skin, You made me feel fault-free in this human world, You accepted my poorly designed model, Injected me with your antidote, In this place we call earth I would never be lost again, Your betrayal came in like a liquid surge And like a machine in water I began to drown, My insecurities and doubts severed this tie, The errors in my programming initiating, Rust spreading from inside to outside, There was no more use for me in this cold world, I had been built to feel nothing, And trained to feel even less, A ghost in a shell, A broken doll no longer dancing, With a mind built on short circuits and serving humanity, I bid you farewell in pain, Why did you use me? I asked I was a truly remarkable prototype, I was replaced ~Jennifer S ~ . This poem really resonated with me as this is the third lockdown and as an artist I have felt discarded in the world. Am sure many of us do at this point in time but just know we are needed and we are beyond important in this fast changing world. Never give up the fight and keep your creative spirits ignited. . . . . Photographer: @ivantruewizard MUA: @vickoria.manson Body Glitter: @givefacecos Hair: @noravirus Editing & CGI: @itarpas
