Today is @summersalt 5th birthday. 5.5 years ago, I walked into an event in nyc I was not invited to. I was meeting a friend and she was late. For those of you who know me well, for me not to be in pajamas, at a bar, with no one I know and at an event is an insane stretch. Somehow on a cold January night in nyc, I found myself in this predicament. I walked in and scanned the room and Lori (a familiar face was there). We often say she literally cornered me, she pulled out the deck and the line sheet of what would become Summersalt. I sat there devouring the pages with her and getting more excited as she turned each page and told me the incredible strategy that is now @summersalt. We were not personal friends and had never worked together but I asked her on the spot if she would consider a co-founder. As they say... the rest is history. I am amazed and grateful for our team everyday. It is not easy. But we are a team and this is possible everyday because of them. We are literally changing lives and I cannot believe where we have come from just a mere 40 orders on day 1. I’m always in awe of and grateful for @loricoulter. We took a chance on each other and on an idea. We work like maniacs. We are dedicated. We are relentless. And she’s stuck with me. Our wonderful investors have been with us through the crazy times and the best of times. Here’s to the next 5 and beyond. This is my dream come true everyday.
