John Gosch was 12 years old when he disappeared on September 5, 1982, while delivering newspapers in West Des Moines, Iowa. His wagon was found, but John was never seen again. His case was one of the first to go nationwide and helped change laws on how police handle missing kids. Eugene Martin was 14 when he disappeared two years later, on August 12, 1984, also while delivering papers in Des Moines. Witnesses saw him talking to a man before he vanished — and like John, Eugene was never found. Both cases remain unsolved, but they raised massive awareness about missing children and led to things like putting kids’ faces on milk cartons. With their case they changed. #coldcase #eugenemartin #johhnygosch #desmonies #missingperson
