Around 100 billion garments are produced annually and literally every second a truck full of textile waste ends up on landfill sites. You may have heard these staggering numbers before but it makes it even clearer that #upcycling must be on the forefront of tackling the global addiction to overproduction and overconsumption. We have to keep clothing out of landfills, oceans and in closets. And although craftsmanship and livelihoods depend on the weaving of virgin fibers, the fact that we are drowning in clothing and fabrics can only be countered by using what is already there. #reduce #reuse #recycle
