My love of American history doesn’t stem from having ancestors on the Mayflower-on the contrary, most of my Welsh and French family arrived through Canada. I love history for its valuable lessons and I’m often concerned about our society’s attempts to hush America’s past. We learned so much last week at @the_greenbrier about leading women, secret government plans and the importance of rest for the body. It was amazing to hear how Dorothy Draper became the lead interior designer of the hotel in an industry dominated by men. She was given $12.5 million (worth $162,898,858.92 today) to decorate the place, an inspiration to say the least. I was also surprised at how many people frequented the hotel just for the mineral springs, we don’t take nearly enough time to truly rest in our society today, don’t you think?
