HAPPY FOREARM FRIDAY! Yoga never fails to connect me to some of the most amazingly creative and inspiring souls I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting 🤍 Connection is perhaps one of yogas greatest gifts. In fact, research shows that yoga can improve the function and tone of the vagus nerve which not only aids in stress recovery, but is also correlated with a stronger feeling of social connection. Additionally, synchronized movement creates bonding of the mind and body. Psychology researcher Dr. Barbara Fredrickson stated that when people move together as one orchestrated unit, they experience an embodied sense of rapport-the feeling of being alive, connected, and with a mutual sense of warmth and trust. The ability to be fully present in the moment with a group of people all moving together in a cohesive dance called vinyasa is one of the greatest experiences.
