What does Black joy mean to you? — To me, Black Joy is simply the freedom to celebrate and be the most authentic version of my Black self. How I decide to style my hair, the traditions I wish to celebrate, just the every day & special things that make me proud to be Black. Where do you find yours? What or who is a source of Black joy to you? — Predominately through my family, friends & elements of Black Culture like Black Twitter and classic Black films movies. Can you recall a specific moment, event or experience where you felt filled with joy? — Celebrating one of my grandma’s birthday during summer was Black Joy personified.
