We made it to Japan! 🇯🇵 Here for a trip of a lifetime in partnership with @elsewhere.io. We are spending just a couple of days in Tokyo and then heading up to the mountains into Yamagata prefecture to experience the natural beauty of Japan and the culture. I’ll be posting on stories every day if you want to follow along! Obviously I’m incredibly excited about all of the food: ramen, traditional Kaiseki and omakase dinners, and just the general love of fresh ingredients and traditions here. I’ve already learned so much! And then the meticulous gardens here. 🌸 There are obviously Japanese gardens but we also came across some English rose gardens, and I just love the general appreciation for nature here. @elsewhere.io has been incredible helping us secure a special visa, as Japan is still not completely open to tourism. We are connected with a local guide here who has created a truly unique itinerary for us. And helped to secure some dinner reservations that we’d otherwise have a hard time making ourselves. Having someone else create an itinerary and take care of all logistics is truly a gift, and as someone who has always planned my own trips, this is something that has made traveling so much more enjoyable and stress free.
