Wet balayage can be such a useful blonding method behind the chair! 😇 it’s one of my most used methods.
It’s a great and efficient option for giving our blondes a quick pop on the ends, pairing with a melt for seamlessness, or even for soft warm dimension on our lower level clients.
One thing I see commonly said is that it is a GENTLER way to lighten hair. It’s not. 🙅🏼♀️
❗️It is NOT a gentler option for blonding hair, just simply another method. It can actually be quite aggressive/damaging if you aren’t careful or utilizing it properly, just like any other method involving bleach❗️
➖Why?➖
This is being applied on damp, clean hair. The pH is raised! This means not only is there minimal buildup on the surface, but the cuticle is also already open. This allows the lightener to work QUICK.
➖What you should do➖
Opt for a gentle lightener and LOW volume. Remember, it will work quickly so this is all you need! I typically never find myself leaving a wet balayage on longer than 10 minutes.
To seal the cuticle back down, I will always finish with a gloss that processes for atleast 15 minutes, and a deep conditioner of some kind.
Hope this helps, happy painting! 💛
