From my early days at the CFDA Incubator, to winning the CFDA Vogue Fashion Award, to countless mentorships, to additional CFDA Awards over the course of my career, and to being the first organisation to donate to my fundraising for disaster relief efforts during the devastating earthquake in Nepal in 2015 - the CFDA has always been an essential and integral part of my growth as a company, designer, and person. It is not an exaggeration to say that my impossible dreams became realised with their support and belief. I genuinely believe that the global fashion industry's soul and conscience begin here in America. American designers are at the forefront of meaningful conversations - diversity, inclusivity, and sustainability - accountability, political and cultural. While the conglomerates may be few and far between here in America, we have a thriving community and camaraderie that, for the most part, roots for each other's successes. It's an energy one must be part of to understand. It's inspiring. It's intentional. It's purposeful. Our Chairperson Thom Browne's mission to push creativity at the forefront of the American Fashion industry deeply resonates, excites, and inspires me for the next chapter of American Fashion. It's an honour and a privilege to have this opportunity to be instrumental in shaping the future of American Fashion. It is one that I intend to take with the utmost responsibility. My heartfelt gratitude to the @cfda Board of Directors and our new Chairperson @thombrowne for appointing me to Vice-Chair alongside my dear friend @aurorajames and @mariamariacornejo as the Secretary and @staceybendeteisner as our treasurer.
