The idea can sound scary=more anxiety. True, we have an inner voice but what is the voice? Why?👇 . 🎨@pleasureparadox.png ✒@the_anxiety_wellbeing.coach . Our inner voice is our innner commentary influneced by our beleifs. . Beleifs come from what you have perveived things to mean present or past or what you have been shown, taught by others. . Your thoughts are then influneced by these beleifs. . Example Let's say a child grows up & doesn't get the attention, ❤ & belonging that they needed to thrive & develop. Each human is different. How might they perceive this? . They could perceive this to mean. My parents can't meet my needs, I will take responsibility of myself (B ) I am responsible & maybe of them too.(T) I must look after them. Becomes an inner voice . They could perceive this to mean They do not love me(B)Its my all fault.(T) I am... Becomes an inner voice . They could perceive I am unlovable,(B) (T) there is nothing I can do, (B) I am helpless to getting the love I need. Becomes an inner voice . They could perceive They are not safe(B) I cannot trust others.(T) I'll do it myself. Becomes an inner voice . Etc. Plenty of ways to see it. Plenty of beleifs to subscribe too Influencing thoughts Motivating your behaviour . This perception doesn't leave you when you leave home. We unconsciously keep these ideas, beleifs with us & they are what motivate us, they become the predictions of our future our inner voice. . Why do we need to predict? We have a survival mechanism designed to remember things that we have perceived to be dangerous to us, in order to better survive our futures. . We have the ability to question, gain more information & to change our minds if that perception now seems to be untrue. Not our fault but the perception would have been built on very little information at the time. . To change an inner voice is to Accept it (no fear) Review past perceptions Question origins Add more information Review & renew a belief Practice the new beleif . #cbtpractitioner #holistic .
