When making the switch to reduce or eliminate alcohol, you are met with a wide variety of terms. From alcohol-free to no and low and non-alcoholic, it can be difficult to know where to start. In the UK, a drink is classified as alcohol-free when it has an ABV of 0.05% or below. This encompasses drinks that do not contain alcohol or have had the alcohol extracted. In comparison, a drink is classified as de-alcoholised if it contains no more than 0.5% ABV and low alcohol when there is an ABV between 0.5% and 1.2%. So what about non-alcoholic? Non-alcoholic is used when accompanied by a term associated with an alcoholic beverage such as spirit, aperitif or beer. Our range of non-alcoholic spirits and aperitifs have an ABV of less than 0.5% (which is also classified as 0%), making them a wonderful alternative to alcohol. Learn more at newlondonlight.com
