For anyone who calls me “friend,” you have Addie to thank. She created the blueprint for me on what it means to be a best friend. Giovanni @mrshautecoco - we grew up on LINDEN in the same building, then went to HS across the street from each other - Shoutout LAG/KING. We’ve lived multiple lives together, and counting. Muvvas Be! Aminisha @aminisha - We met at the University of Miami. We were the ONLY black students in the theater school. She saw my name on the list and I saw hers, and the decision was made for us. Fast friends became forever friends. Nakia - My goodup friend from Jamaica. She was Aminisha’s roommate at UM, until I stole her as my roommate, then we moved to BK and became roommates again. She literally calls me “Rooms.” No matter where we are in the world, we share a home in each other’s heart. Kim @stuggy13 - Her name is literally “MY COUSIN KIM” because for as long as I’ve had consciousness she has been my ever present person-my big sister, my wisdom corner, my party partner, my caretaker, and now my dream maker. She saw me derailing on this ‘Ode to Grenada’ vision and stepped right in with @spice.sea.couture - MCK forever! ❤️ Jalene @coffey333 - Our childhood was spent on E. 95th St. in Brooklyn. Our family homes were next door to one another. We played together until the street lights came on. We discovered this after meeting at LAG H.S. as drama majors and tracing our journeys, while forming a bond that would one day make us COUSINS.
