Probably one of my favorite photos I’ve shot recently 😄☺️ Right around this last Thanksgiving I was in a little town in La Guajira, Colombia working on a story that @antonia.c.schaefer came up with for us to cover about a new technology that could help the local communities. These sassy little ones came right up to me upon seeing my camera and I spent the next twenty minutes goofing off with them, laughing way too hard at ourselves. It’s moments like these that make me wonder if all our connectivity makes people envious of vapid displays of happiness, and that they’d be perfectly content if they were ignorant of it all. As an example here, a total of fifteen people sleep in that shack behind them in the third photo. In the meantime I’ll keep catching as many genuine smiles as I can 🙂 (Shoutout to @antonia__schaefer again she’s a super cool freelance journalist covering lots of stories wherever she lives.
