One of the cool things I learned last week at the @sothebys opening was about how intensive the restoration of the @porschedesign 1972 911S Targa was that is now up for auction. I spent some time catching up with Uwe Makrutzki who is the manager of Factory Restorations for Porsche Classic in Germany. Essentially the restoration utilizes many of the modern steps in the body preparation for paint, so it comes away with all the protection that a current 911 enjoys. So basically this car from 1972 is now showing the results of using many of todays constructions processes and materials.
