AD A recent visit to @thelaneldn for @lily_vanilli_cake 🎭 theatre inspired afternoon tea has led to a reshuffle of my top five afternoon tea spots in @prettycitylondon ✨✨ Tea is served in the Grand Saloon of the historic Theatre Royal Drury Lane which reopened last year after a two year long, 60 million pound restoration. It takes inspiration from the Regency era as well as the theatre. The colour palette for the edible delights mirrors that of the room- how perfect is that✨ Savoury bites are served with warm scones and sweet treats ✨✨all served on bespoke fine bone china designed by @kitkempdesignthread ✨ I booked the complimentary theatre tour before my tea and I can’t recommend it enough- led by actors I was brought through the fascinating history of this theatre, the oldest theatre on the same site in the world. It was utterly brilliant to go behind the scenes inside the birth place of the musical and pantomime and discover the origins of terms like crew, props and box office.
