DAZZLE CARGO - Exposición / Taller de @javier.montoro vier.montoro en @habitacionnumero espacio comisariado por @lavaproject_ project in collaboration with @julio_cubillos La instalación combina esculturas funcionales, construidas a partir de retazos de tableros industriales típicos de la construcción del mobiliario doméstico actual, con los textiles de asientos de autobús que simulan un camuflaje ‘dazzle’ al que se incorporan elementos serigrafiados sobre los patrones preexistentes. Con estas esculturas, el artista genera un solapamiento entre el ámbito doméstico, íntimo y privado, y el espacio público, siendo ambos espacios de aislamiento, pero de los que él resalta el componente imaginativo de la deriva colectiva. Desde un punto de vista antagónico a la ciudad corbusiana, Montoro presenta una perspectiva situacionista del mobiliario urbano en donde la imaginación colectiva puede reconducirnos a vagar por la ciudad. Tras la inauguración Montoro llevó a cabo un taller en donde los invitadxs fueron invitadxs a intervenir las propias piezas de la exposición. ENG DAZZLE CARGO - Exhibition / workshop by Javier Montoro at Habitación 34 space curated by Lava Project The installation combines functional sculptures, built from remnants of industrial boards typical of the construction of current domestic furniture, with textiles from bus seats that simulate a ‘dazzle’ camouflage to which screen-printed elements are incorporated on top of pre-existing patterns. With these sculptures, the artist generates an overlap between the domestic, intimate and private sphere with the public space. These are both spaces of isolation, however, he highlights the imaginative component of collective drift that they share. From a point of view antagonistic to the Corbusian city, Montoro presents a situationist perspective of street furniture where the collective imagination can lead us to wander through the city. Past the opening of the show, Montoro carried out a workshop where he invited the participants to intervene directly upon the pieces. Photos by @rebecasayago
