~Invictus~ Our fears are often more debilitating than the reality we face. They can lurk in the shadows of our mind, and give us every possible reason to give up, doubt, or run away entirely. Why wouldn’t they? When we torture ourselves imagining all the ways something can go wrong, it can be paralyzing. The truth about fear is that the longer we sit with it, the more likely we are to let it dictate our actions. Of course fear has its time and place, in keep us aware or prompting more thoughtful preparation beforehand. But when a task is at hand, and you have already showed up...it’s time to push through that fear and give it as little time as possible to grow and fester. When the moment to act arrives, it is imperative that you take that first step forward and you just keep moving. For once we walk into the unknown, it’s only a matter of time before we break forth into the light of reality. The shot: Taken on a crisp autumn morning. When I first arrived on location, the landscape was dark and covered in dense fog. Over the course of an hour or so, I explore and got many shots of the changing light on the horizon along with the increasingly visible landscape. Once sunrise came, I was presented with this heavenly scene.
