The White Stripes in their 2nd-to-last ever public performance in NYC delivered a scorcher of a set highlighting "Icky Thump". Standouts include a tour-de-force 6+ minute take on "Black Jack Davey", a clever improvisation titled "I Work At A Record Label" and no shortage of tried-and-true gems like "Blue Orchid" and "Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground." New tracks like "Rag And Bone", "I'm Slowly Turning Into You" and the album's title track all fit in wonderfully here. Somewhat surprisingly, the band did not play "Seven Nation Army" here. Always unpredictable.
To celebrate 15 years since the release of the Stripes' final studio album, please enjoy this June 19th, 2007 live recording from the Fillmore At Irving Plaza in New York City, now streaming @nugsnet.
