At the heart of “La Maison de la Lune Brûlée” lies a profound exploration of Eastern philosophy, contrasting with Western notions of fixed essences. As Byung-Chul Han notes, “In the far east, far more than in the west, the way things flow into each other is openly visible[…] Essence is difference. Thus, essences block transitions. Absencing is in-difference.
