According to a new study by Cheaphotels.org, Miami Beach topped a global ranking of the most expensive destinations for New Year’s Eve hotel stays. The survey analyzed the lowest available rates for a three-night stay from December 30 through January 2 at centrally located, three-star-or-higher hotels across 60 major cities worldwide. The findings show the cheapest qualifying hotel room in Miami Beach costs $1,187 for the holiday period—nearly 200% higher than typical January rates—driven by intense demand for year-end celebrations. Rio de Janeiro and New York City followed closely, with three-night stays averaging $1,172 and $1,164, respectively, while European cities like Edinburgh and Vienna also ranked near the top.
