before Lowoods turns to no woods the neighborhood is changing rapidly. when I first took up photography, my first series of photos was based in Lowoods. even though I didn’t live there anymore, I’d still be there multiple days throughout the week to play basketball and visit my brother — that was six years ago, when I first started seeing large sections of trees being torn down and the subdivision expanding. this inspired me to document what was still left of Lowoods. when I moved to the city that work was put on the back burner so I could shift my focus to becoming a full time artist. earlier this year, I moved back to the country and I’ve been back at it. the folks in the neighborhood always let me know when there’s any sort of gathering.
