a slice of Eden // Nestled deep in the Currumbin Valley, surrounded by pristine rainforest and rugged mountains lies the tranquil oasis of @eden_health_retreat OK. I must admit, prior to being invited to visit, neither @louisewrightphoto or I knew what to expect. Wait, a “health retreat” aren’t those for old people and hippies? What will a couple of thirty-something’s like us do the whole time...? Within minutes of arriving to the warm welcome by Eden’s friendly staff we felt right at home. The following days were filled with relaxation, guided practice and movement, rainforest walks, native wildlife, self reflection, warm baths and incredibly delicious healthy meals. Oh and many many cups of yummy herbal tea (no coffee!). Gentle rains fell, flowing into streams that wound through the expansive and beautifully manicured grounds. The bustling chaos of city life felt far away. Meanwhile my busy schedule of deadlines and projects faded, making for few days of very welcome rest. The whole experience was amazingly positive, enriching and recharging. 100% something I would eagerly do again in a heartbeat.
