For those who don’t know, I come from a small town in the middle of California where jobs like “music producer” simply don’t exist. As a kid, I used to dream about my biggest musical influences and feel so far away from that since no one in my surroundings did what I was trying to do. I had to keep my head down and work tirelessly to create a seemingly impossible reality for myself, out of thin air, with no guidance other than the internet. It really was just trying everything until I broke through. Now, one of the biggest reasons I work so hard is to give a voice and platform to the kids from where I’m from that don’t even know a career like this is a possibility. Everyday for me is uncharted territory, I had no other music guidance or help when I was back home and now, all I hope to do is be the person to open the door for everyone else. It’s only been two years since I’ve been pursuing music full time, and full circle moments like this article from the college I graduated from serve as a reminder of how much bigger my vision is than myself. Thank you to everyone that supports what I do. It wasn’t that long ago that this all seemed so far away from me, like an impossible dream that I had no idea how to get to. This is bigger than myself, this is for the younger me that didn’t have anyone to look to for guidance in this industry.
