3 Things I’ve Learned About Being a Content Creator… 1. There will always be a smaller creator that will do it for less. What I mean is in terms of brands actually paying creators, they always tend to lowball you because there is always a smaller creator who will do it for way less. Negotiation is key and never settle for less when you know the quality of your content.
2. Analytics do not equal Quality. Just because you have low views, low engagement, low reach doesn’t necessarily mean that your content is trash (regardless of what social media gurus say). We know how selective algorithms can be. One day you can be up the next, down….way down. But as long as you stay consistent, focus on quality not quantity - brands will put more value on your content. Trust me - other platforms look like a struggle for me sometimes but I still manage to pull 4 & 5 figure brand deals because I focus on the quality and creativity of my content versus trying to jump on every trend that comes out.
3. Stop comparing yourself to other creators. It may feel like a competition but honestly it’s not. When it’s your time, you will know it. Don’t give up if you haven’t exhausted your options and even when you have, flip
it and use that as motivation to create something new. Don’t worry about copying someone, as long as you always put your own spin on things - it’s your content. Think about how many millions of people are on social media - you think not 1, 2 or 3 million people may be out here creating the same exact content? It’s ok..
