I am tired of worlds ending and the numbness of the people watching. Stockholm 50 +was treated as a celebration, it was anything but. it was the demarcation of entire villages, tribes, names, histories hanging on to dear life while states and corporations pick and chose whose worlds end and whose world’s continue.
The subsidiary briefings that are taking place in Bonn, are making decisions in real time, behind closed doors about who gets to live and who dies.
And because of this, it is even more apparent that we do not all live in the same world. If we did, the duty to it would be clear to all of us. We would hear the land clearly, because it talks back.
The United States and developed nations are preventing funds of equity that THEY OWE developed nations from being committed. When disasters occur when entire world come to an end the already poor nations have to pay for the climate crisis, they pay in crop failure, in entire cities being destroyed, in life.
We are not asking for charity or aid, we are asking for funds in loss and damage that nations owe developing nations and black, brown, indigenous people.
