Unfolding Landscape — New Paintings by Nuria Maria Maria’s new body of work is an ode to the simple beauty she finds in nature. The paintings are strongly influenced by her time in Spain in 2021, but also reference the landscapes of the southern tail of The Netherlands. She responds to her fleeting sensory experiences of these environments, such as the light movement of wind through leaves or grass; the dark velvet texture of summer fruit; or the structured surface of granite, translating them into abstraction.
