July, 2022. the most transformative month in my adult existence. the 20th of July my dad passed and for a moment my world was torn apart. i was angry, confused, and had no sight in how to process this seemingly catastrophic event. we all know this happens, the inevitable....birth to death. something we will experience in our lifetime if we are fortunate is the passing of a loved one. My dad was absolutely one of a kind, a man that lived multiple lives, and had an enormous amount of life experience which he taught in straightforward ways for which of most of my life i failed to understand or accept these teachings. he loved me dearly and the family that he made even more. my dad taught me patience, awareness, love, and compassion. He left me with this understanding and he left me with a great deal of peace in my life. i say if we lose a loved one that we are fortunate because of the lessons we can learn, the clarity we can achieve, and the celebration that we can have from one humans life and in this instance it is my father’s life. i am so very thankful for my father’s existence, the knowledge that i have gained from him, and to continue on living with this new perspective on this life. if you’ve read this far thank you and please if you have room in your heart to share that love with someone and always show compassion to the people that you encounter. your soul will thank you.
