Oliver Wilson crafted these stools from found cypress wood in Berkeley. It was his way of using local materials and turning them into functional art. Cypress wood is a softwood that carves, yet is durable and stable. The golden hues add a warm and tactile sensibility. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The taller stool has a thin strip of walnut inlay on the seat and all the threaded legs screw off. He adds 2 or 3 coats of poly urethane to treat and seal it to give it that luster. We love it as a pair together.
