The phrase “find your voice” sort of bothers me. I feel like it can misleadingly imply that you have to look somewhere else to obtain “a voice”, when in actuality you should spend more time figuring out how to turn up the volume of your own voice. I mean would you really want to spend time looking somewhere else for something that’s already inside you? - I feel like turning up the volume is tricky if you aren’t the type of person who is familiar and comfortable with solitude every now and then. Solitude goes hand in hand with the process of developing the certain level of self awareness that allows you to hear your voice loud and clear. - Allowing yourself the time and space to sit and connect with yourself and yourself only will drown out those voices that seemingly always find a way to infiltrate a stream of conscious. Add that with some “getting out of your way” during those moments when you let your body, mind, and spirit battle with each other and you will have the “amp” that finally grants you the ability to hear the original melody of your voice. - captured by @florentschmidt
